Acid Row (Stoner/Sludge/Doom | Czech Republic)
Acid Row is a Czech band that has been around since around 2012 and is known for its
explosive combination of stoner rock and punk, spiced with elements of doom, psychedelia, and
90s grunge. Originally from Pilsen, the band moved to Prague in 2019 and is renowned for its
furious energy on stage and its affinity for darker, « devilish » aesthetics. The band currently
performs as a trio consisting of Alex Fonar (vocals, bass guitar), Dominik Klesa (guitar), and
Radek Bacík (drums).
The band gained wider recognition with their debut album Spikes (2018) and the subsequent
successful LP Afterglow (2022), which also scored in the international Doom Charts. Their third
studio album, Poisoned Mind, released in 2024, confirmed their quality by winning the Anděl
Award in the Rock category. Acid Row actively tours throughout Central Europe and has
performed alongside world icons of the genre such as Clutch, Bongzilla, Red Fang, and Stoned
Jesus. In 2026, they released their fourth full-length album, Magic, which balances on the edge
between stoner, doom, sludge, and noise rock.
